Alan Baker
Alan has been an artist at Kindling Studios since 2015. He enjoys weaving and painting and primarily creates abstract portraits based on celebrities, musicals, and some of California’s greatest fun spots. Alan enjoys creating artwork because it allows him to express some of his favorite things, including visiting vacation attractions, watching famous Hollywood movies, enjoying musical icons, and celebrating family culture. Kindling means a lot to Alan and where he enjoys making and selling art from his inspirations and celebrating fun times with his fellow artists.

Lee Burke
Lee has been an artist with Kindling Studios since 2016. He enjoys painting, drawing, and photography. Lee is inspired by buildings, architecture, locations, and iconic Disney characters, television shows, and movies. Lee enjoys documenting memories and sharing his ideas with others in his artwork. For Lee, Kindling is a place he can be with his friends and colleagues, creating artwork alongside other artists within the community. Lee’s artistic style includes lots of detail and observation, and practicing for his goal in becoming an animator at Walt Disney Studios.

Nick Russel
Nick has been an artist with Kindling Studios since 2021. Some of his favorite mediums are painting, drawing, and sculpting. Nick is inspired by his own thoughts and feelings, creating art that expresses himself and gets his ideas out into the world. Nick views Kindling as a form of therapy, where he can be himself and think about what thoughts he’d like to put into action. He describes himself as an observer of art, a drawer, and an individual who plans and prepares as much as he can.

David Idell
David has been an artist with Kindling Studios since 2015. David specializes in drawing and acrylic painting. Drawing since the age of 3, David is inspired by strong usage of color, shapes, and animals. While painting, David likes to create bold color schemes broken into designs, then outlines each individual shape with dark, defining lines. Kindling is a place where David can exercise his artistic talents and skills, and be recognized among a community of artists and colleagues for his intricate work.

Ann Marie Martinez
Ann has been an artist with Kindling Studios since 2021. She specializes in weaving, painting, clay, and jewelry. Some of her favorite mediums are tie dye and making pom poms out of multi-textured yarn. Ann describes herself as a weaver and designer inspired by color, texture, and variations.

Amanda Wold
Amanda joined Kindling in May of 2024. She likes to create anime girls, jewelry, iron bead art, gem art and has recently gotten into painting. She feels that art is fun and likes to admire her creations. She loves art and takes pride in her work. She finds art relaxing. Her other interests include petting dogs, playing on her phone, watching tv, and talking with friends.

Brandon Moreno
Brandon has been an artist with Kindling for about 6 years. His favorite mediums are drawing with markers and creating designs with wood burning. Brandon is inspired by colors, bold shapes and lines, and symbolism of holidays such as Christmas and Halloween. He enjoys sketching while observing images, breaking them up into segments and linear patterns of color and intricate designs. Brandon feels that Kindling is a good place, where he enjoys the friends he's made and creating artwork.

Daniel Schneider
Daniel has been an artist with Kindling Studios for about 5 years. He enjoys drawing and illustrating with markers, using bright colors and bold shapes to convey his many inspirations. Daniel is inspired by locations, historical events, stories, and culture in his artwork. He also is our accountant, helping to make sure all artists get paid for their work. To Daniel, Kindling is a community where he feels “in the spirit” through creating and selling artwork alongside his fellow artists and colleagues.

Erin Schleich
Erin has been an artist with Kindling Studios since 2015. She enjoys working with texture, including textiles, weaving, drip paintings, and resin. Erin is inspired by the 70s generation, drawn to the age of the “flower child." Erin expresses how art is a therapeutic experience for her, allowing her to feel calm and relaxed. Above all, Erin enjoys creating artwork that described who she is. For Erin, Kindling is a happy place, one she feels she can escape into her inspirations and create artworks that advocate for people of all abilities.

Matthew Heathcote
Matthew has been an artist at Kindling for several years. His favorite mediums are drawing and painting. He is inspired by many things, including color schemes, shapes, and scenery. Matthew enjoys being around fellow artists at Kindling and being in a studio dedicated towards creating. He appreciates being able to learn new mediums and new ways to create different artworks. Aside from creating abstract designs, Matthew also likes to draw and paint from memory.

Monica Hutchinson
Monica has been an artist with Kindling Studios since 2017. Some of her favorite mediums are drawing, coloring, and painting. Monica is inspired by her friends, flowers, animals, and bright colors. She enjoys creating bold shapes and color in her drawings, using lots of texture and lines. For Monica, Kindling is a place where she can create art with friends, explore new mediums, and be in a community that supports creativity.

Shannon Murphy
Shannon has been an artist with Kindling Studios since 2017. Some of her favorite mediums include beading, clay, painting, and drawing. Shannon is inspired by vintage 1960s - 70s culture, marine life, along with films, TV shows and cartoons. Aside from art, Shannon also enjoys story writing, fan fiction, and acting with her local theater. Some of her favorite genres are fiction, fantasy, science fiction, and thriller. Shannon finds creating art relaxing and fun, and enjoys the ways it allows her to create her own ideas. For Shannon, Kindling Studios is a place she can enjoy being with a community of artist friends, explore new mediums, and sell her work.

Kaylee Escobar
Kaylee started at Kindling Studios in 2024. Since she started, she has enjoyed working with colored pencils and jewelry making. She is very open to try different types of art mediums. For her making a blank page full of color gives her confidence in herself and in her ability to create. Her inspiration comes from movies and different dinosaurs, dragons, monsters, and aliens. Kaylee has found Kindling Studios to be a place where she can come sketch while feeling welcomed.

Alex Rodriguez
Alex started Kindling Studios in 2025 and has since been developing their artistic practice in photography, fiber arts, and jewelry. Inspired by their eclectic interests—especially shapes and cartoons—they create work that can be both cute and creepy, always driven by their own curiosity and imagination.
They describe themselves as “aggressively enthusiastic” as an artist, bringing a colorful, cartoony, and animated energy into everything they make. For Alex, art is not only a safe space for self-expression but also a way to connect with others and share joy.
Outside of the studio, Alex enjoys reading, dancing, and singing, and they share their life with their cat, Daisy. Their passions include fashion design, amusement parks, animals, decorating, Star Trek, and good music. Alex also brings a wealth of unique experiences to their art. During an internship program at NASA, they served as a group leader, guiding a team in programming Mars Rover Legos to perform different tasks. They are multilingual, kind, and deeply motivated—qualities that shine through both their art and their daily life.
